OnePlus Watch 2 Launch | Coming Soon on 26th Feb

The OnePlus Watch 2 is coming and it is no secret. The company has officially confirmed that its next-generation flagship smartwatch will launch on February 26. Ahead of its official debut at the Mobile World Congress (MWC) 2024, OnePlus has provided a glimpse into what consumers can expect from its upcoming fitness tracking wearable.

Here is everything you need to know.

The company’s announcement of the launch date, which is set for 8:30PM IST, came via a community post on the OnePlus website. While specifications and features remain under wraps, OnePlus has given details on the watch’s design and battery performance.

The OnePlus Watch 2 will be a successor to the first-generation OnePlus Watch, which made its debut in 2021. Notably, the new version will come with a stainless-steel chassis and sapphire crystal glass for better durability and a sleek aesthetic. Available in Black Steel and Radiant Steel color options, the watch promises a blend of style and sophistication.

OnePlus has also touted impressive battery life for the Watch 2, claiming up to 100 hours of usage in “full Smart Mode.” This surpasses the battery longevity of competitors like the Apple Watch Series 9, setting a high standard for endurance in the smartwatch market.

It seems that some people are already confident about the wearable because consumers wasted no time in reserving their spot for the OnePlus Watch 2 before the event. More than 1,500 pre-reserve passes have already sold out. However, interested buyers can still secure their device by pre-reserving it for Rs 99 on the official OnePlus India website. Those who buy this will be eligible to get a Rs 1,000 discount on the watch and a free pair of Bullets Wireless Z2 ANC earphones.

While features are yet to be confirmed, leaks claim that the OnePlus Watch 2 will have a 1.43-inch AMOLED display. It is said to draw power from Qualcomm’s Snapdragon W5 Gen 1 chipset. Although the smartwatch is expected to run on Wear OS, details regarding the version Wear OS 3 or Wear OS 4 remain elusive.

The anticipation surrounding the OnePlus Watch 2 extends beyond India, with a landing page on Amazon confirming its global availability coinciding with the official launch. The first generation was launched at Rs 16,999 and the new one is expected to either cost a little less to woo consumers or retain the old price. It will be interesting to see how OnePlus will convince users to buy this device.
